Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy (/jæ̂m/ /jeɪ̯́æ/ [probable; possible] [proverb]) is a subtropical Town located in the Jǎlēyeēy Region of the Confederation of Goblin Tribes.

The name Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy is derived from the Goblin language, as Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy was founded by Zlkartesí Èbèleseg̈ Treshèbrê, who was culturaly Goblin.

Climate

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy has a yearly average temperature of 18°C (64°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 28°C (82°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 8°C (46°F). Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy receives an average of 290 cm/y (114 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3330 m (10925 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy was founded in time immemorial, reportedly some time durring the late 8th century, by Zlkartesí Èbèleseg̈ Treshèbrê. The establishment of Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy was built using the conventions of Goblin durring the late 8th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of restrictive worn bedrock streets which form octogonal paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. Astonishigly, the millitarily questionable fortifications are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

A look around Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. This all rests atop the unmistakable impression the town is one of the strictest places imaginable. Everyone’s actions are clearly directed by laws they keep in heart and mind at all times. Orderly byond order is a phrase which Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy brings to mind.

Civic Infrastructure

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy's parks.

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy.

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy's grid is powered by hydrogalvanic generators.

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy's natural decorations nor waterways.

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Two or more groups of citizens within Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy hate each other. Their neighbors or the local law have kept things from too-overt violence, but members of the groups will constantly interfere with their rivals and cause whatever misery they can get away with. This hate may spring from recent events, or it may be an inherited spite from old wrongs.

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is famous for its stately symmetry, classical elements, and grand appearance. Columns and pillars, such as Corinthian columns, are often seen supporting open structures or porticos. Symmetry is an important feature of this style, with each half of a building mirroring the other. Domed ceilings and windows grace these buildings, with everything placed in a mathematical arrangement.

In Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy sometimes, near one of the seasonal solstices, the sun appears to split into three and it rains from a clear sky for several hours.

The Anhana near Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Yē̂m Yáä Vǖy's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves creating small tokens to channel Augury energies of tier 3 via recitation of poetic epics.
